Shop Talk

Retail Scoop

It’s still a long way off, but power shoppers are counting the days until the opening of Prime Outlets Livermore Valley, a 400,000-square-foot mall located on El Charro Road off I-580. The shopping center, scheduled to open in fall 2008, will house a lavish outlet roster rumored to include Last Call and Off Fifth, the premium factory stores for Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue.

Meanwhile, already up and running are two new Pinkie’s Nail Salon locations, at San Ramon’s Crow Canyon Commons and the Danville Livery Mercantile. The lofty spaces offer the same decadent specialty treatments as the three-year-old Lafayette location, including after-hours private parties and princess pedicures for wee ones.

Flowers, plants, and organic objets d’art abound at Urban Forest Home, Berkeley’s new home-and-garden store, at 1880 Solano Avenue. The loft satisfies a green thumb with a potting bar for personalizing pots and organic soil with your plants of choice.

Alternatively, Diabloites with a yen for Zen will finally have a Burke Williams Day Spa to call their own this October. The Culver City–based chain, which has locations in San Jose’s Santana Row and San Francisco’s Westfield Centre, is building a 17,500-square-foot spa in the still-under-construction Rose Garden in Danville.

And, in ever-bustling Walnut Creek, the hipster clothes and home-style store Urban Outfitters will replace the former Traditions at 1530 Olympic Boulevard. Canadian export Lululemon Athletica will open next door with sporty clothing.
