Diva-licious

The spiral-bound book by Darren Wotz and Ed Polish can be propped up on a desk to let the world know just how you feel in the most sarcastic way possible. Featuring campy artwork reminiscent of 1950s ads, the book sports women with Colgate smiles and Doris Day hairdos spouting off strings of brassy sayings such as, “Coffee isn’t helping, get the jumper cables” and “It’s been lovely, but I have to scream now.”
Polish, who used to make his living creating punk rock buttons in the late 1970s, says You Say I’m a Diva Like It’s a Bad Thing is the G-rated follow-up to what he calls his “bitch trilogy” of humor books: I Bitch, Therefore I Am; That’s Queen Bitch to You; and You Say I’m a Bitch Like It’s a Bad Thing. Yes, the three previous books were a bit raunchier, although You Say I’m a Diva Like It’s a Bad Thing has its edge. “Even though it’s not obvious,” says Polish, “the book has an underlying punk rock attitude.”
